Laura Alfaro is the Warren Alpert Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School and an NBER research associate in the International Finance and Macroeconomics the International Trade and Investment programs. She served as Costa Rica’s minister of national planning and economic policy in 2010-12.
Chad Syverson is the Eli B. and Harriet B. Williams Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is a research associate in three NBER programs: Environment and Energy Economics, Industrial Organization, and Productivity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship. His research focuses on the interactions of firm structure, market structure, and productivity.
